Earlier this week, I talked about my motivation for working out. Today, I am talking about what I do when I work out. Because I let clique’s guide my life, my workout motto has become “train insane or remain the same”. This philosophy has been incredibly effective, but it was not easy.
But before any of that, here are my outfit details:
Change 1: Running
Incorporation running into my routine completely changed my body. Running was the main thing that helped slim me down. The key to really slimming me down was getting my heart rate up and keeping it up. When I workout, I wear a heart rate monitor around my chest; and running gets me into the “red zone” every time. For me, running is the easiest and most effective way to slim down. It also taught me a discipline and structure that I was really lacking in my life before.
Change 2: Personal Training
Now I was very fortunate to be able to work with a personal trainer. Pat is incredible. He had immense patience and kindness with my out of shape self. Working with him, gave me the tools and confidence to be able to go to the gym by myself and feel a little less self-conscious. Now, I realize not everyone can afford or has the time to work with a personal trainer. If you wanted to work with my shining star, Pat has an online fitness program- reach out to him at Pat Lives Fit, for your own programs!
Change 3: Putting It All Together
Now that I am back at school, it is all up to little old me to put it together. Usually I alternate between gym days and long run days. Even at the gym, I incorporate running. A sample of my workout would be:
-Run .25 miles on treadmill
-Circuit 1 (usually a mix of body weight exercises)
-Run. 25 miles
-Run .25 miles
– Run .25 miles
This whole routine takes me about 20 minutes. After this I will do an ab exercise, as well as another blitz circuit to get my heart rate up.
