Two weeks ago I took a day trip to Brighton. Back home I lived 7 miles from the beach and never went, but I travelled 3,000 miles away from home and finally made it to the ocean. I took the Thames Link train from King’s Cross Station and it was not a bad trip at all; it took about an hour and a half to get there. After we arrived in Brighton, I walked straight through town and found myself at the beach. The beach was beautiful and I really enjoyed snapping pictures as I walked on the pebbly beach. On this trip, I embraced my childhood spirit and rode the carousel that was on the beach and went to the pier and watched my friend play the claw carnival game.
After visiting the boardwalk, there was a reverse in directions and I walked along the beach in the other direction. I happened on the most amazing bar with a ton of outdoor seating and live music. It had the most delicious looking menu so that was where I decided to have lunch, and it was incredible. I had a hot dog that was classic English sausage in a giant french baguette rather than a bun and it was to die for.
Brighton was an awesome way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the ocean. While it was chilly and windy, being able to walk along the beach was a great way to relax and “get away”. I will definitely be making the journey again to see more of the city.
