As I have gotten older, my hair color has gotten substantially darker. Until about sixth grade my hair was incredible light, partially because I spent every waking moment outside. I miss that sun kissed, healthy look my hair used to have. As my hair has also gotten darker is has also become much more unruly as I age, what once was straight, soft and incredibly manageable has turned into a curly, frizzy mess that requires a great deal of moisturizing and TLC *aka a blowdryer*.
When it comes to my hair, usually once I find a product that works for me, I stick with it and never mess with the routine for fear of causing a frizzy mess. However, a new product has waltzed into my life, though is not the Holy Grail hair product, it is a nice little addition the regularly scheduled hair routine DryBar’s Gold Mine Leave-In Conditioner is what I imagine Tinkerbell would use in her hair, though it is incredibly subtle. While I was initially wary because of the very intense glitter look, it actually reminded me of a glitter hairspray my hairdresser used to use on me when I was little, so this product definitely has the nostalgia factor. Looking t it in the bottle can be a little unnerving but Gold mine really just gives the hair a healthy shine and glow, which makes it a great product for any hair color not just blondes.
Now I usually blow-dry my hair, right after the shower and add a bunch of moisturizers to “tame the mane.” This product while it doesn’t actually make my hair blonder, it does give it a subtle shine, reminiscent of my blonder days without looking like I just packed glitter into my hair. Though this product is branded as “leave in conditioner” I did not find it to be particularly hydrating, I used this product in conjunction with my other moisturizing creams, however for someone with thinner and less texturized hair this product would infuse a great deal of moisture into the hair. One minor pitfall of this product is the glitter that is left on your hands, it looks like you had a fight at a craft store.
Whether you are looking for a new Leave-In Conditioner or a fun twist into your hair-care routine, the DryBar has created a product that not only infuses more life into your hair, but also a hint of shimmer.
